At Body & Soul we offer various types of body wraps to target individual needs. All treatments begin with a full body exfoliation. A body clay is chosen to suit your needs and is applied with special technique whilst you are cocooned we relieve tension from the scalp with a relaxing massage, this is followed by a complete body moisturize. Body wraps are recommended once a month for wellbeing. To treat any specific conditions a course of six treatments is recommended.

Microdermabrasion – 40mins

 

Microdermabrasion is a technique used to resurface and smooth the skin, a deep cleansing, exfoliating technique using a handpiece with embedded diamond chips and an adjustable vacuum. After the procedure, the treated area will look flushed due to increased circulation but feel smooth.

 

Microdermabrasion can assit in the treatment of many problems including acne and acne scarring, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, dry or oily skin, sull skin, “smokers skin”, blackheads and many others. In addition, Microdermabrasion stimulates the creation of collagen and cell turnover. Immediately following a microdermabrasion session the skin will feel smoother and have improved texture.

 

The typical session for Microdermabrasion takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Most clients find it to be a pleasant experience. The microdermabrasion hand piece will be passed over your skin and you will begin to feel a mild scratching as the procedures removes the superficial skin cells. This scratching will soon pass and a vibrating sensation will set in. Following the session your skin will feel smoother and tighter.

 

Side effects for microdermabrasion are usually te,porary and may include swelling and redness for several hours. With devices itilizing suction hand pieces there is a possibility of slight bruising from the suction , which will generally last several days. The skin will become more sensitive to sun exposure, therefore Body & Soul recommend using a natural sunscreen such as EarthSentials Sun protection Cream following each Microdermabrasion session. It is also recommended to moisturise the skin as the microdermabrasion session will temporarily dry the skin.

 

Microdermabrasion removes the damaged top layers of the skin revealing a visibly fresher appearance and helps to undo the ravages of time. Pure, sugar-fine mineral crystals gently sweep away the damaged surface cells, encouraging the skins natural renewal process, and restoring its youthful glow.

 

Throughout your life, your skin is constantly working to replace old, dry skin cells with fresh, new ones. As you age, the renewal process begins to slow down. The top layer of your skin thickens, gradually losing its ability to reflect light.

 

 

The indio paramedical micro-peel has been formulated to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin at a professional only level. IPL Skin Rejuvenation (Photo rejuvenation)

Photo rejuvenation is a non-invasive skin procedure utilising an intense pulse light machine (IPL). IPL differs from laser treatments as it offers a non-ablative solution to improving the texture, quality, colour and health of your skin. IPL is not a laser but a broad wavelength light that is pulsed onto the skin and can treat multiple conditions simultaneously; including broken veins and capillaries, redness of the skin, age spots, pigmentation and freckles. Treatment can take place over the entire body with face, neck and décolletage being the most popular areas.

In addition to improving uneven skin colour, sun damage, facial redness (Rosacea), and pigmentation, the heat energy stimulates new collagen production beneath the skin surface which remodels the collagen, firms the skin and shrinks the pores. After a series of photo rejuvenation treatments at intervals spaced 4 weeks apart; a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles can also be seen. The skin appears more luminous, brighter and smoother. Improvements can be seen 10 days following the first treatment and enhanced results can be seen with each subsequent treatment.

How will my skin look immediately following a photo rejuvenation treatment?
Initially the skin will feel warm similar to a mild sunburn sensation and the treated area will remain pink for 2 or 3 hours. Some mild swelling may occur; this is transient and will subside 2 days following the treatment. If treating pigmented conditions, the pigment will become darker and will remain dark for 3 – 4 days. Four days following treatment, the darkened pigment will gradually shed from the skin, and new pigment-free skin will emerge. Spider veins and broken capillaries clear almost immediately following the treatment and continue to improve.

Do I have to stay out of the sun?
It is important to protect your skin from direct sun exposure over the series of your treatments and it is highly recommended to use a spf30+ sunblock. Solariums and sun bathing are to be avoided.

Photo rejuvenation treatments can be carried out all year round as long as you are not planning to be in full sun exposure immediately following a treatment.

How often should I have photo rejuvenation, and what can I do to maintain the result?
Ideal results are obtained by undergoing a series of treatments. This may be between 2 -6 treatments, depending upon the condition to be treated. After the initial series of photo rejuvenation treatments most of the improvements are permanent however in order to maintain the results some future maintenance may be required and this varies from person to person.

Skincare that compliments the photo rejuvenation treatment should be added into your daily regime. It is highly recommended to commence the use of Skincare that has high levels of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid and other potent Anti-oxidants, 3 weeks prior to your first photo rejuvenation treatment. This should be maintained throughout the entire course of the treatment series and can be continued long term. The use of a zinc based spf30+ sunblock is also highly recommended for long term use.

Other ‘non-invasive’ procedures like Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion can be used in combination with photo rejuvenation for superior results.

Are there any possible side effects?
Photo rejuvenation is generally a very safe ‘no downtime’ procedure. There are some very mild side effects that can occur and these are generally associated with darker skin types and excessive sun exposure.

Before Your Tanning Session

Shower and exfoliate your entire body before your application session or appointment. Wax or shave at least 8 hours prior. Ensure your skin is free from moisturiser, makeup, perfume and deodorant – as these can react with the spray and prevent a perfect, even finish. Wear loose clothing and shoes to your appointment. Wear a dark coloured bathing suit or dark underwear garment of your choice to tan in. Apply clear nail polish to fingers and toes- acrylic nails are not affected. Wait at least 8-12 hours before showering after your tan is applied. Apply moisturiser morning and evening after your post-tanning shower. Hydrated skin will make your spray tan last longer.

After Your Tanning Session

DON’T- Sit on leather or light fabric furniture immediately after your tan is appliedDONT- Luxuriate in a hot bath or soak in a pool –this will fade your tan faster. DONT- Exercise immediately after tan is applied
DON’T - Exfoliate your skin or use lotions with Alpha Hydroxy Acids, they will fade your tan away.

What is MIPL?
Intense Pulsed Light is a method of permanently reducing hair from the body involving the use of a specially constructed flash lamp and focusing optics. The focused, broad spectrum light is applied to the surface of the skin using a hand-held wand. The intense light travels down the hair shafts, where it strikes the bulb, or root, of the hair. The bulb is usually where the highest concentration of melanin is located, as opposed to the rest of the hair shaft.

When the light strikes the dark-coloured melanin, the light is converted to heat energy. The bulb and most of the hair shaft is instantly vaporized. The intense heat radiated by the hair also destroys the hair-producing papilla or the entire follicle.
